Procedure of Processing Raw Materials
Pashmina wool is produced by underbelly inside hairs of Caprahircus. The annual wool of three goats is required to produce one shawl. However, these goats are not harmed in the process of Pashmina raw materials; as it is collected as natural shedding. This is in contrast to the process of producing Shatoosh, in which the Tibetan antelopes are killed. But Caprahircus is not killed in the process of producing Pashmina. In Caprahircus life time people collect Pashmina more than twenty times. After natural shedding, they collect the inside hair and select the big microns hair from Pashmina wool. Then Pashmina wool is boiled to make it soft. And they process it. After processing, traditionally, they make Pashmina threads through hand spun process. China has developed advanced computerized technology to produce Pashmina thread. Through this technology unique, softest, finest and low microns Pashmina thread is produced.
